Academic Curriculum

It is our desire to provide a curriculum that is not only knowledge based, but allows the students the freedom to initiate, explore, discover, and investigate the world that God has created.  At the very youngest age level students are provided with the skills necessary in the major areas of Language Arts and Math in addition to explore the world through science and culture.  Our strong Bible program provides the foundation for a world-view from a Christian perspective.  Although Bible is taught as a regular part of our curriculum, it is our intent to integrate biblical morals, values and principles into all subject areas, while at the same time develop personal character.

We are re-fining our approach to education so that students are better able to see the relevancy of their learning to real life situations.  This approach allows the students to connect with the world in which they live and creates an environment of learning that intrinsically motivates them for further discovery.  The human brain craves a challenge and at KCA our goal is to see life-long learners developed.  Children learn in a variety of ways and we endeavour to provide opportunities for students to develop their talents in their area of strengths, while at the same time encouraging them to stretch beyond their comfort level.

KCA uses a variety of material from several organizations including Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools (OACS), Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), Christian Schools International (CSI) and Pearson Canada, in order to give a broad based approach to the curriculum.  The school does follow the Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines which can be found on their website.  These are considered minimum guidelines as KCA strives to provide quality programming beyond the provincial requirements.
